Founder
Elder Charlie C. Smith was born in Byron, Georgia to the late Mr. Reuben Smith and Ellie Manson Smith. At the age of 25, he committed his life to Christ. He served in the capacity of a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and musician at his local church. In 1985, Pastor Smith received his call into ministry and was later led to establish a church in Dublin, Ga. He received his license as an ordained minister in 1989 followed by ordained elder in 1994. With a clear vision, strong faith, great determination, and God’s help, Pastor Smith along with his first wife, the late First Lady Gladys Smith founded Loose & Bind Ministries Church of God by Faith in March 1986. On August 31, 2012, our beloved First Lady Gladys Smith was called by God from labor to reward.
Pastor Smith furthered his education by obtaining his bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree, and finally a Doctorate degree in 2011. His dedication and ministry in Church of God by Faith was recognized by the leadership of the National Church Of God By Faith. As a result, he was appointed superintendent of the newly formed Central Ga. District of COGBF Inc. in December 2014. He was the overseer of ten churches in the Central Ga. area. His life and ministry were driven by the fact that every soul is precious to him and in the sight of God. His mission was to reach the lost by any means necessary. In time, God blessed Elder Smith to find companionship in Sister Zellene White. In November 2013, they were married. Sister Zellene White Smith joined the fellowship of the Loose and Bind Ministry, working alongside her new husband.
On September 26, 2022, Elder Smith transitioned to his heavenly home but his legacy lives on through Loose & Bind Ministries.
